    The oldest and largest organization dedicated to the preservation,
    restoration, and use of horse-drawn carriages and sleighs
 
American Driving Society
    Promotes the best interests of driving horses and ponies to carriages
    both competitively and for pleasure.

Black Swamp Driving Club
    A driving club in northwestern Ohio dedicated to promoting
    opportunities to enjoy driving and collecting horse drawn vehicles. It
    also encourages the preservation and maintenance of carriages and
    other horse, pony, or mule driven vehicles.

National Animal Interest Alliance       
    The mission of NAIA is to promote the welfare of animals, to strengthen
    the human-animal bond, and safeguard the rights of responsible
    animal owners.

EDUCATION
CAA Proficiency Program  The intent of this program is to help carriage
drivers increase their awareness and knowledge of driving, ensure they're
driving safely and correctly, and earn a CAA Driver Proficiency Certificate.  
A great way to learn the basics!


The Driving Radio Show is an online radio show (podcast) dedicated to the
thrill of carriage driving. Wendy and Glenn take an entertaining look at it all from
competitive driving to the pastime of recreational driving. New shows weekly!

Great resource for continuous learning.  Access to live and recorded online
courses on driving topics.

Safety In Harness

Equine Law and Horsemanship Safety -   A great resource for researching
questions on horses and the law.  This site contains comprehensive resource
materials on equine law from all states and horsemanship safety.   It is hosted
by the University of Vermont.  Both the legal and horsemanship materials are
suitable for use by law students, lawyers, and the general public.  The
materials are updated each week with new law cases for horsemen within
days after they have been decided by the courts and with other materials as
they become available.

CAA Carriage Trails Guide
Looking for new places to drive or are you going on a trip and  would like to
know where driving is permitted?  The CAA has created a listing of places
where driving is permitted.  This is still a work in progress!

National Drive   
    An inexpensive long weekend in October devoted exclusively to equine
    driving. The drive is designed to become the largest gathering of
    recreational drivers in the country.   Highlighting the weekend will be a
    series of clinics and demonstrations featuring some of the nation’s
    most prominent clinicians and driving experts.
